Well it's officially here - the Men of May bloghop! Be sure to check out all the other Men of May posts that are linked below. You'll find some wonderful M/M authors on the list that are sharing inspiration and giving away a little something for some of you lucky folks that leave a comment on their post.
Okay so for my Men of May post, I thought I'd share a few pictures I found which inspired characters and scenes in my novels and an excerpt or blurb from the books that resulted from them. Most are pictures I found while 'researching' and thought the models deserved a novel of their very own. Each have that something special that makes me look at a picture of them and think 'Wow, I really must write your story!'
As you may or may not know, one of my favourite sub-genres in M/M romance is cowboys - hence my paranormal series Shifters' Haven which is set in and around the Crazy Horse ranch in small town, Texas. My latest release in this series is Nate's Deputy and below is the picture I used to inspire my lead Nate Stanford.
Nate!
Here is the blurb of Nate's Deputy:
Werewolf Nate Stanford is riddled with guilt over his brother Rick’s death…so much so that when he meets his mate—Deputy Sheriff Jared Ambrose—he rejects him, believing he is not good enough for Jared and not worthy of being loved. The only thing that matters to him is buying his childhood home in honour of his brother’s memory.
Since their father died, Jared Ambrose has taken on responsibility for his younger brother, whose drinking binges are constantly getting him into trouble. Jared’s only hope of saving his brother is finding them a place they can call home. Jared wants to make Sheriff, but believes he’ll never be elected if the residents of his new town find out he is gay. When he realises Nate is his mate, he knows it’s not possible for them to be together.
But trouble in their small town and unrest in the supernatural council force them together and make them question their decisions. Can these two stubborn men conquer their demons and overcome all obstacles to carve out a life together?

September 17th will see the release of my second contemporary novel Too Many Chances. Here is the picture that inspired me to write a scene which turned into a full length novel.
Here's the blurb:
Can Matt forgive the person who broke his heart and learn to trust him again or has he already given him too many chances?
Matt Jacobs has had a very bad day. First his boiler breaks down in the middle of his shower then he learns his beloved cat would rather live with his crotchety old neighbour. But while he’s in work – at a job he hates, Matt gets the worst news of all. A phone call from the hospital informs him his father has just passed away. When the man he's been 'dating' for the past five months tells him he's getting married to someone else, Matt doesn’t know if he can take any more bad news. Thoroughly dejected and sick with grief he packs a bag and makes the five hour drive home to Missouri to arrange his father’s funeral.
On a whim, Matt makes a trip to a secluded spot by the river, a place he spent much of his time growing up. While he's staring at the sky, contemplating his future, who should show up but James, Matt’s ex best friend and the last person on earth Matt wants to see. James was Matt’s first crush and the person who hurt him more than any other when they were just eighteen. But James has an apology for Matt and a confession that could tilt Matt’s world on its axis.
Can Matt forgive the person who broke his heart ten years ago and learn to trust him again? Is it worth the risk to his already bruised and battered heart? Matt’s about to find out.
Lastly I thought I'd share the inspiration of the two lead characters from my current wip Mobsters and Miracles. The novel is a contemporary M/M romance about two NYPD narcotics detectives that fall for one another while trying to gather evidence to put the Valdez brothers behind bars and shut down their operation.

On the left is the snarky, self proclaimed asshole Lewis Manning - openly gay, Lewis has fallen for his 'straight' partner Danny. But Lewis is in for a shock when he discovers Danny may not be as straight as he first believed.
So there you have it folks - some of the inspiration for my novels. Leave a comment on the post below to win a copy an e-book copy of my first contemporary Bollywood Desires and my latest release - book five in the Shifters' Haven series - Nate's Deputy. A winner will be chosen at random. And don't forget to stop by all the other blogs below for fun and more chances to win.

My favorite M/M sub-genre is suspense and I'm thrilled by your WIP about NYPD narcotics detectives. I don't shun other kind of m/m books and would love to read Nate's and Jared's story.
